the otherwhirled

where nothing is real, and nothing else is sacred.

Light Posting Announcement

Yep, the Family Other is going to go visit the captivating climate of Elsewhere (which is located somewhere in the Otherwhirled which I have not yet visited) for a few days that will, later on, no doubt be referred to as “vacation”, even though it’s going to be frankly way too short for that. But hey, any number of days filled with wanton irresponsibility strung together in a row and capped off on either end with interminable lengths of driving has got to be good, right?

I will be taking a laptop along and we’ll hopefully hit some free Wi-Fi deliciousness so that I can possibly contribute from time to time as we traverse the real otherwhirled. But in case that falls through, I have once again invited those sly devils, Tengrain and Dr. Monkey von Monkerstein to guest-blog.

Here’s hoping everyone will continue in their own private Otherwhirledly decadence while I’m away.

PDB Blogswarm Wrap-up

I couldn’t get back to this last night, but here are links to various other participants in the PDB Blogswarm, which may or may not be complete. It was also cobbled together from at least two other sites that provide the same links, but that’s incidentally the purpose of the blogswarm, so I’m doing it here. 😉

Speaking to others about that anniversary is something that always bemuses me. The amount of people who don’t recognize the significance of those acts of willful ignorance is staggering. That roughly 40% of Americans still believe Iraq had anything to do with the attacks of September 11th, 2001 is almost incredible as well. But obviously, Fox News has some sort of viewership, although that such sheep can effectively operate a remote control is at lease somewhat impressive.

Anywho, without further ado, are the participants, including and well beyond yesterday’s spotlights that I felt were especially compelling and thus linked to individually.

ClustrMuster

As I already noted, I’ve become a bit enamored with the ClustrMaps thingy over there on the right. It’s been kinda fun to have around. I know it doesn’t do much, but it is, after all, the little things in life that provide our pleasure.

If that wasn’t true, I’m sure I wouldn’t have managed to sire four children. You’re welcome to interpret that however you desire.

Anyway, I decided to use a small portion of what little discretionary funding I have at my disposal to upgrade my ClustrMaps subscription. Tomorrow or sometime soon, you will be able to click on different continents for a more detailed distribution of your fine visiting selves. Knock yourselves out.

And keep in mind as you look at each little dot, you all have something in common. Well, at least about 54% of you do.

Your apparent fondness of nude Condoleezza Rice photos.

I tremble for the fate of humanity.

Okay, that wasn’t fair. I’m actually quite impressed to have such a high number of conservative readers who have a “thing” for Condi mixed in with those few you who might enjoy my witticisms.

Sales Forecast

(Peter Newcomb/Files/Reuters) “Industry analysts predict that sales of the John Edwards Love Doll™ will continue to rise towards the end of the year, but probably not enough to cover his expenses.”
