Edwards-Edwards ’08!

(Brian Snyder/Reuters) To be honest, I’m no longer certain which one should be billed first on the campaign ticket, but…what a team! It’s great to see a spouse so intimately involved in a campaign as opposed to just tagging along and waving at the crowds. Awesome stuff! A Reuters editor says it quite well below.

Reuters Caption: Elizabeth Edwards, wife of Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards, answers a question from the audience at Southern New Hampshire University in Manchester, New Hampshire, April 30, 2007. Elizabeth Edwards has emerged as an outspoken, tenacious partner in her husband’s White House bid, an illustration of what experts predict will be a growing trend of spouses taking active, autonomous and even combative roles in campaign politics.

  1. Truly impressive indeed, she’s so good it’s confusing as to who in running, Mrs Edwards, or the other Mrs Edwards. In a world where truly critical decisions and actions need to be taken, Mrs Edwards is prepared to make the ultimate sacrifice! She will give up tangerines! Mrs Edwards (John, I mean) is only a distraction in this run up to the nomination, and with Lizzy by his side, he is sure to have problems, somebody smack this ‘mental giant” on the back of the head, we’ve had enough empty-headed chickies that miss the point.

  2. Interesting windows into the inner workings of your misplaced homophobia and misdirected misogyny, Michael. One hopes you’ll visit often and comment frequently, for I’m sure we all bask in the radiance of your enlightenment!

  3. Out of all the presidential candidate spouses–and I mean all–Elizabeth Edwards is the one I respect the most.
